Galesburg City fundraising enough for Rotary Park improvements

In order to accomplish the construction of a new walking path, ice skating rink, rest rooms, an improve sledding hill, a zero-depth spray pool and a new parking lot at the Rotary Park, Galesburg City Council approved a plan to apply for a grant in the amount of $660,000. The 50% of the grant amounting to $330,000 must be raised by private funds and the city has already secured the said amount. Marv Dahlberg, City Treasurer and Noon Rotary Club President, said that fundraising might secure enough funding to pay for the project without state assistance.
