Evans Indicted for Misuse of State Grant

Ronald W. Evans, Jr., husband of formerly indicted Chicago police chief Regina R. Evans, was charged with mail fraud and money laundering. He allegedly paid off his debt using the $1.2M state grant.


The state grant given by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity in 2009 to an organization managed by the Evans couple was the to used to boost the number of minorities and women who enter trade union apprenticeships.
