Atheist's Lawsuit got Dismissed by the Federal Appeals Court

Robert Sherman’s lawsuit against Illinois granting $20,000 to fund the restoration of the Bald Knob Cross of Peace got dismissed.

U.S. Magistrate Judge David G. Bernthal says that Sherman can not just sue the state because he is against a cross. The judge then granted the dismissal.

Sherman then appealed to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago, but the panel of justices suggested that even if the cross is a religious symbol, the cross is also considered to be a tourist attraction.
