Dawes Park Receives State Grant

The Dawes Park, a 4.5-acre lakefront lagoon, was awarded with a $400,000 state grant last weekend by Governon Pat Quinn.


The grant is one of the several projects in Illinois that received grants totaling $12.3 million from the Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development Grants.


According to the director of parks and recreation, Doug Gaynor, the grant will be used to renovate the lagoon.
