items. The emerald ash borer, Agrilus planipennis, is an invasive pest that threatens the ash resources in the United States.

Since discovery near Detroit, it has spread to 15 states and killed tens of millions of ash trees.

The focus of this RFP is to promote the development or improvement in technology for management of this pest.

Preference will be given to those proposals that are focused on biological control, development of resistant host trees, and improvements in survey technology.

Secondarily, other areas of proposed investigations will be considered, such as development of regulatory treatments, pesticides, strategies to slow or stop the spread, and strategies to exploit the behavior or biology of these insects to lower populations and lesson damage.Funding will be provided to Land-Grant Universities, Non Land-Grant Colleges of Agriculture, and other Universities and Colleges, State Agricultural Experiment Stations, State Governments, and Federal Agencies to support development of EAB management technology.

Applications for cooperative agreement funding are given priority if they meet the priorities outlined in this RFP and cost share.
