Combatting Corruption and Strengthening Integrity in Jamaica Activity

The new anti-corruption activity will capitalize on existing USAID/Jamaica and Government of Jamaica (GOJ) endeavors and create new opportunities for promoting community-based partnerships in building pubic demand that will combat corruption and strengthen integrity; raise the advocacy skills and overall

capacity of investigative, prosecutorial and enforcement professionals; and to ensure that key anti-corruption legislations are neither stalled, gutted nor shelved.

The new anti-corruption activity will also be innovative as it aims to:
engage youth in a more robust manner including use of media which is more class and youth sensitive; build the capacity of the GOJ Judiciary and other systems to assume technical training responsibility; strengthen media on their reporting of the issues; build a cadre of other anti-corruption advocates; and focus on key additional political codes of conduct.

Integrated approaches will respond to the needs of victims and witnesses of corruption; establish mechanisms that will widen the anti-corruption network and encourage sustainable interventions; and support activities that seek to respond to emerging issues in the anti-corruption landscape, including but not limited to economic and fiscal oversight programs through the use of sub-awards.
