Strengthening Egypt’s Family Planning Program

The “Strengthening Egypt’s Family Planning Program” (SEFPP) Activity would provide technical assistance and training in support of Egypt’s Family Planning/Reproductive Health Program.

SEFPP would work to understand and address some of the major drivers behind Egypt’s

recent fertility reversal:
namely, decreased exposure to FP/RH messages in the media and limited FP/RH information and counseling; limited contraceptive method mix and shifts in method choice by women; discontinuation of methods due to mismanagement of side effects; trend toward earlier marriage, having the first child sooner and having shorter birth intervals; and fewer young women and couples using contraception.
