NOTICE OF FUNDING OPPORTUNITY FOR U.S. AMBASSADORS FUND FOR CULTURAL PRESERVATION (AFCP) 2018 SMALL GRANTS COMPETITION

Program Description The Embassy of the United States is pleased to announce the call for proposals for the 2018 U.

S.

Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) Small Grants competition.

The AFCP was established in 2001 in collaboration with the Department of State’s

credit:


Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) to assist countries in preserving their cultural heritage.

You are invited to work with U.

S.

Embassy Colombo’s Public Affairs Section to develop and submit proposals for possible funding under this initiative.

To date, through the AFCP program the Embassy has supported ten projects in Sri Lanka valued at almost $900,000 and four projects in Maldives valued at nearly $96,00 0.

Funding Range for Individual Awards:
From $10,000 to $200,000 per project.

In Fiscal Year 2017, awards ranged from US $24,000 to US $174,00 0.

The deadline for receipt of proposals is December 1, 201 7.

To receive consideration for funding, applicants must forward only electronic copies of all required documentation to Grants Applications Manager under the heading “AFCP 2018 Small Grants Competition” to the e-mail ColomboPDGrants@state.gov on or before the deadline.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
reputable and accountable non-commercial entities, such as non-governmental organizations, museums, ministries of culture, or similar institutions and organizations, including U.S.-based organizations subject to Section 501(c)(3) of the tax code, that are registered and active in SAM.gov and able to demonstrate that they have the requisite experience and capacity to manage projects to preserve cultural heritage.

AFCP does not award grants to individuals, commercial entities, or to embassies or past award recipients which have not fulfilled the objectives or reporting requirements of previous AFCP awards.
