surrounding the station.

Mosquito control will reduce the risk of human diseases, such as West Nile virus, that can impact mission essential operations at NWS Seal Beach.

The objective is to control larval and pupal mosquitoes in their aquatic sites to prevent the emergence of adult mosquitoes.

Because the mosquito control will be performed on the National Wildlife Refuge within the habitat of endangered and threatened species, all control operations must be conducted with minimal impact on the natural resources.

As such, special permitting will be required from the U.

S.

Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), to perform any service on any protected site.
