Liberia Police Accountability Project

In an effort to combat the high levels of corruption and lack of accountability among the LNP, INL seeks to partner with the LNP to implement a project to strengthen police accountability.

This project would create access for the public to provide information on when and where they felt victimized

by the police, a tracking mechanism to ensure all cases were examined and a means for communicating the results to the complainant.

Throughout the project lifespan, basic means of communication such as radio and print advertisements should alert the public to the ability to seek redress.

The project should also aid the LNP’s Professional Standards Division (PSD) in the strengthening of its ability to track and resolve all cases, including a means whereby the final resolution is conveyed to the complainant and general trends are conveyed to the public.
