Support to American Corners in Iraq

American Corners in Iraq also serve as a platform for Iraqis and Americans to engage with one another in-person or electronically.

In addition to serving as a general resource center, each Corner should serve as a space for supporting public diplomacy programming, including but not limited

to English-language teaching/learning, advising about educational opportunities in the United States, cultural programming and activities, providing information about the United States, and engaging Iraqi alumni of U.

S.

Government exchange programs.

The awardee will provide equipment needed at each Corner, on-going maintenance and repairs to new and existing equipment, program planning and capacity building training to American Corners staff, and coordination and logistical support for program activities.

Implementing partner should be ready to coordinate and ensure that each American Corner is hosting approximately one activity per week, thus a yearly plan for each American Corner should include at least 40-50 program activities.

Besides supporting the above mentioned public diplomacy programming, activities at the American Corners will also address topics identified in consultation with the Public Affairs Sections at the embassy and consulates and in accordance with goals of the U.
