The U.
S.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has partnered with the Government of Vietnam (GVN) since 1998 to improve and protect the health of the Vietnamese people.
As part of its public health strategy, GVN is working aggressively toward compliance with the International
credit:
Health Regulations of 2005 (IHR 2005).
Vietnam conducted a Joint External Evaluation (JEE) in 2016 and identified numerous recommendations for improving capacity in 19 technical areas.
Since then, CDC has worked closely with GVN to strengthen the host government capacity in several GHSA Action Packages.
The purpose of this NOFO is to further strengthen the capacity of the host government in the prevent, detect, and respond framework so that GVN can develop IHR capacity in a broader range of technical areas.
