Strengthening Local Governance to Improve Gender Based Violence (GBV) Response Project

USAID/SA is seeking assistance for a five-year program to strengthen the capacity of South African structures to lead, coordinate, and manage the local governance and community response to gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and mitigation.

This project is expected to result in the reduction

of vulnerability to GBV risks and the enhanced mitigation of the effects of GBV in communities.

A “local partner” may be an individual or sole proprietorship or a legal entity of any type except for governmental organizations.To be considered an eligible local partner for the purposes of this NFO, the applicant must:1.

Be organized under the laws of South Africa;2.

Has its principal place of business in South Africa;3.

Is majority owned by individuals who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of South Africa or be managed by a governing body, the majority of whom are citizens or lawful permanent residents of South Africa; and4.

Must not be controlled by a foreign entity or an individual or individuals who are not citizens or permanent residents of South Africa.
