Overview of Anticipated Civil Society Programming

The purpose of upcoming USAID Serbia Civil Society Programming is to strengthen locally-led efforts to further democratic and economic reform processes in Serbia.

Complementary to the Mission’s work with government institutions, these activities will focus on fostering and strengthening

the connections of citizens and non-governmental actors to engage in and support the reform process.

The activities will seek to increase cooperation between citizens, civil society actors, the private sector, and the government in ways that can enhance the effectiveness and inclusiveness of reform efforts.

These programs will focus on civic engagement, the involvement of citizens in guiding public policy, and improving the quality of life in their communities and their country.

Programs will support civic engagement by providing grants and/or contracts to local organizations to increase citizen influence in a variety of areas including Good Governance and Accountability, Media, Philanthropy, Community Development, Civil Society Advocacy and Rule of Law.

In the world of social enterprises, failure is a cringe-worthy moment nobody wants to talk about. But, social entrepreneurs can benefit from their failures.
