The NC Parks and Recreation Trust Fund has awarded a grant to the New Hanover County Park in the amount of $287,817. The funds given will be used to expand the County by purchasing 33 acres on the south end of Castle Hayne Park. The land surrounding the park was purchased with bond fund and as a result $287,817 will go back into the bond fund which will be used to fund a new access road into the park.
